Visitation will be held Friday August 25, 2017 at 12 noon with services to follow at 1 pm at Indiana Funeral Care, Harry W. Moore Chapel, located at 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, Indiana. A luncheon to celebrate her life is to follow.

Barbara Jean Best, 85, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2017. Barbara was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana on June 21, 1932 to Helen and John Link.

Barbara is survived by her husband William P Best and her children Gregory Morgan (Jodi), Jeffrey Morgan (Linda), and Lisa Argue (Mason). Stepchildren preceded in death by Margaret Best (Rick) and survived by Amy Wilmouth (Kevin), Deborah Robertson (Steve), and William Best Jr. She was the grandmother of seven, preceded in death by her first grandchild Jason in 2002, and is survived by grandchildren Casondra, Courtney, Tyler, Whitney, Kara, and Travis, and four step grandchildren Brian, Allison, and Jeremy, and Kristan. She had four great-grandchildren, Brianna, Isaac, Olivia, Vanessa, and Katie. She was recently preceded in death by her only sibling Joan Cook.

Barbara grew up in Toledo, OH, and moved to Indianapolis to attend Butler University, where she studied art and was an accomplished ballerina. She was a member of Delta Gamma sorority and was a Rose Queen nominee. There she met and married Wayne Morgan, with whom she had her beloved children, and remained in Indianapolis for the rest of her life. In 1972, she remarried the man who was to become the love of her life William Best with whom she spent the rest of her years. They met while she was working at the Indianapolis Racquet Club. They enjoyed many wonderful summers together at their cabin in Frankfort, Michigan.

Visitation will be held Friday August 25, 2017 at 12 noon with services to follow at 1 pm at Indiana Funeral Care, Harry W. Moore Chapel, located at 8151 Allisonville Road, Indianapolis, Indiana. A luncheon to celebrate her life is to follow. Arrangements entrusted to Indiana Funeral Care.
